Volunteers are the backbone of our organization and without each and every one of you we could not help the community as we do. We can always use help. Volunteers are a critical link between Treasure House, its partner agencies and the people they serve on a daily basis. Please consider volunteering your time and talents. Volunteer Opportunities
  • Manager – manages the thrift store and food bank once a week for 4 hours. They assemble food boxes to clients who in need, price donated merchandise to be sold in the thrift store and assist clerks when needed.
  • Thrift Store Clerks – handles the retail side of the store once a week for 4 hours. They welcome customers, ring up sales, stock bread racks and straighten the shelves and clothing racks.
  • Donation sorters – sorts through the donations to the thrift store. Sorters work 4-hour shifts and start at 8:00 AM Monday – Friday. Must be able to stand and lift at least 20 pounds.
  • Bread runners – pick up bread donations from local stores. Requires a pickup truck or a van. The person must be able to lift at least 35 pounds. Usually takes 2 hours.
  • Rag runners – Take bags of un-saleable clothing, shoes, etc. to Portland and help unload. Must be able to lift 25 pounds. This is a once a month job.
  • Yard work – To be done when projects need to be done.
  • Fix-it person – Needed to help with repairs and maintenance of the building.
  • Lost & Found Café – volunteers are needed to cook, kitchen helpers, table set up, clean up, and dish washers. Meal days are Mondays and Thursdays. Hours vary according to job.
